Hamburg, Germany – 2024
Earlier this year, Aashwin Shrivastava, Founder and Managing Director of iiterate Technologies GmbH, was invited to speak at the FitING in Germany Alumni & Career Talk hosted by the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH).
The event brought together alumni and current students for an engaging discussion on professional growth, entrepreneurship, and navigating careers in Germany’s evolving innovation landscape. Alongside fellow panelists Samy Thiyagarajan and Ujunwa Irogbarachi, Shrivastava shared reflections drawn from his personal and professional journey — from arriving in Germany as an international student to establishing a technology company specializing in AI-driven innovation.
Key Discussion Themes
The panel explored a range of topics relevant to international graduates and young professionals, including:
- Entrepreneurship in Germany: insights, learnings, and experiences from founding and scaling a company.
- Cross-cultural communication: navigating professional settings and building intercultural understanding.
- Language learning: the importance of learning German and practical strategies to do so effectively.
- Personal and professional growth: stepping outside comfort zones to develop adaptability and confidence.
- Networking and collaboration: building meaningful connections and authentic relationships.
- Lifelong learning: how academic experiences at TUHH continue to shape and inform career trajectories.
Shrivastava reflected that attending the event as an alumnus was both a privilege and a full-circle moment — highlighting how his academic foundation at TUHH set the stage for a career centered around innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
The discussions underscored the shared curiosity and ambition among TUHH students — qualities that continue to drive the university’s reputation as a hub for global talent and technology leadership.
iiterate Technologies extends its gratitude to Frauke Kasting, Anna-Lena Glesinski, Vera Lindenlaub, Michaela Hoppe, the AStA team, and the media team for organizing the event, as well as to Stephan Bergmann, Dr. Stephan Buse, and the Global Technology and Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (GTIME) program for their ongoing mentorship and support.
